How to read a KHDA school fees fact sheet

Last checked against KHDA on 22 October 2026.

Every Dubai private school has a KHDA School Fees Fact Sheet for each year group. It shows tuition, any mandatory fees, a total, required supplies such as uniform, optional services such as transport, discounts, enrolment fees and the fee increase policy for the year. Compare totals, not tuition alone, and find each sheet in the KHDA directory.

Quick answer

KHDA describes the fact sheet as a one page reference listing all the mandatory and optional fees a school may charge in an academic year. It is valid for one academic year, is included in the School and Parent Contract, and can be checked by scanning its QR code.

Where to find a school's fact sheet

Open the school in the KHDA school directory, go to its fees table and choose View Fact Sheet for the year group you need. KHDA says schools also post their own fact sheets on their websites.

Tuition, mandatory fees and total

Tuition is the core annual fee. Mandatory fees are approved and regulated by KHDA and differ from school to school; examples include activities or computer and library fees. Total Fees adds the two together. Any discount the school applies to tuition is shown on its own line.

Required education supplies

These are items such as uniform, books, stationery and a laptop or tablet. KHDA explains that they are needed for learning, and parents can buy them from the school or from other suppliers where available. The sheet shows a price range for each item.

Optional services

Optional services include transport, trips, canteen and extracurricular activities. KHDA does not regulate fees that are not directly related to curriculum delivery, so their terms are set by your agreement with the school or provider.

Discounts

Where a school offers discounts, they appear under Other Discount Scheme. For example, the 2026-27 Grade 9 fact sheet for North London Collegiate School Dubai lists sibling discounts of 5%, 10% and 15%, a corporate discount of 5% and an early payment discount of up to 6.5%. Discount terms vary by school, so read each sheet.

Tuition fee increase policy

This line states whether tuition has risen for the year. KHDA confirmed on 22 May 2026 that there will be no increase in private school fees for 2026-27, and the fact sheets we checked say the school requested not to increase its tuition for 2026-2027.

Application, enrolment and re-enrolment fees

The sheets we checked list an application fee of AED 500 including assessment, an enrolment fee of up to 10% of tuition for new students, and a re-enrolment fee of up to 5% of tuition or AED 500, whichever is higher, for existing students. Both are deducted from first term fees. The sheets describe them as non refundable, but KHDA's refund policy effective 23 March 2026 makes these deposits refundable if you give at least 60 calendar days' notice; see our refunds guide.

Worked example: Crescent English School, KG 1, 2026-27
