How to Compare Dubai Schools
Once you have a few contenders, compare them on the things that actually affect daily life and outcomes — not just the headline rating. Here's a simple framework.
Line them up on the basics
Curriculum, KHDA rating, all-in annual cost, and whether there's a seat in your child's year. Rule out anything that fails one of your must-haves before going deeper.
Weigh the school run
Compare realistic morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times from your home for each shortlisted school. Two schools with the same rating can mean very different daily lives for your family.
Look at fit, not just prestige
Class sizes, SEN and inclusion provision, strength in sport or the arts, and how the children seem on a visit usually matter more than a single-word rating.
Read parent sentiment carefully
Treat public parent sentiment as indicative context, never as fact, and always read it alongside the KHDA report and your own visit. See how we summarise it on our methodology page.
Use the tools, then visit
Add contenders to a shortlist and use the side-by-side comparison to see them together. Then book tours for your top two or three — the visit is what decides it.
